About Fred Spannaus
Fred Spannaus is an independent consultant with a practice that includes homelessness and strategic human resources management.
Most of his work is with governmental and nonprofit agencies. To help communities respond to homelessness, he assists local Continuum of Care systems in developing and implementing plans that effectively respond to local realities and federal mandates. An experienced housing consultant, Fred has conducted housing needs assessment and guided the development of supportive housing in several cities.
A certified Senior Professional in Human Resources, Fred conducts professional investigations of human rights violations for local government agencies and employers. He has presented seminars on HR topics through the United States. He is author of The Occasional Interviewer, a guidebook for pre-employment interviews that is used nationally.
Prior to entering the field of consulting in 1997 he was executive director for Dove, Inc. in Decatur, Illinois. Fred has a bachelor’s degree from Valparaiso University and a master’s degree from the University of Illinois at Springfield. He has also taken post-graduate studies at DePaul University.
